OVERNIGHT SHELTER YOUTH CARE WORKER

SALARY: DOE. Part-time, non-exempt without benefits. Hours are 11:00pm to 7:00am, work shifts are three days on—three days off, to include agency holiday overnights. Additional hours are often available. Flexibility is required.

SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include assisting team members with overall operations of shelter facility and responsible for the direct care, behavior management and supervision to shelter residents, ages 5-17. This includes; monitoring personal hygiene, health, medication administration, bedtime preparation and wake up, client intakes and discharges, meal preparation, perform primary maintenance duties and upkeep of physical plant, attend case management staffing.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: AA degree in human services, child development, elementary/secondary education or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years experience working with youth who exhibit varying degrees of difficult behavior in a residential, therapeutic, group or classroom setting is preferred. Candidates must be knowledgeable of the Native American Indian culture, values, and family systems. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass MN DHS background study. _______________________________________________________________________________
