Adult Social and Emotional Well-being as Service Friday, July 26, 2019, Brainerd, MN
Join us for a deeply moving and powerful training. Through experiential and interactive mindfulness-based activities and discussions, you’ll gain a greater understanding of yourself, the impacts of trauma and ACEs, and how to use those insights to better serve youth. You’ll interact with other youth workers during a screening of the Resilience film and explore concepts like emotional first aid, social emotional learning, toxic stress, moral injury, and the core values that influence your work. You’ll leave with a toolkit of practices to help you and the youth you serve build resiliency and mindfulness to better handle stresses in the moment.
The Impact of Implicit Bias in Youth Work Wednesday, August 28, 2019, Fargo, ND
Join us for a deeper exploration of implicit bias and the impact it has on your work with young people. You’ll learn steps you can take and strategies you can use to reduce unwanted biases, engage in more equitable decision-making practices, and have more positive interactions with youth. Through group work and discussion, you’ll reinforce the new learning with the benefit of others’ experience and perspective.
Making Youth Work YOUnique: Lead from the Inside Out Friday, October 11, 2019, Brooklyn Park, MN
By participating in this interactive Immersion Workshop you’ll learn how to use self-reflection to uncover your blind spots. You’ll develop awareness about how you show up and how that affects everything you do. You’ll explore how your own developmental experiences shaped who you are today as well as how you interact with youth. You’ll practice the art of giving and receiving feedback and learn how to leverage your TAGS: Talents, Abilities, Gifts, and Skills to make your youth work YOUnique. This will go beyond your typical ‘sit and get’ training – join us for a dynamic day of self-exploration, self-growth, and self-reflection.
