YIPA lobbies the Minnesota State Legislature to increase or protect the Youth Intervention Programs (YIP) grant allocation. We recruit, train, and unite young people and youth workers to help provide legislative advocacy. Together, we ensure all young people have the support they deserve.
Our three guiding principles:

Essential Service We ensure Minnesota legislators understand your work has great social and economic value. Everyone benefits when young people positively develop their unique skills and talents.

Adequate Funding Your work provides a large return on investment and is fiscally responsible. We build relationships with Minnesota legislators so they recognize the need to properly fund youth-serving programs.

Respected Profession Youth work is a difficult profession and you make a significant difference in young people’s lives. We ensure Minnesota legislators understand the valuable professional you are.

Empower yourself and young people! We make it so easy to be a social activist. Together, we let Minnesota state legislators know that we care deeply for our young people and need adequate funding for the Youth Intervention Programs (YIP) grant.

The Minnesota Youth Intervention Programs Association (YIPA) receives funding through the Youth Intervention Programs (YIP) grant. The following YIPA team members are responsible for overseeing the grant and ensuring all contractual deliverables are met:
