We provide a continuum of support and care, enabling individuals to build skills and overcome adversity, such as; substance use, mental health needs, criminal justice involvement and employment obstacles.
While past, current or potential involvement with the justice system is often what brings people to WCS, that involvement is usually a result of unmet needs and/or systemic inequalities. Achieving sustainable change takes time, resiliency and ongoing access to resources.
Youth Services
WSC provides community-based alternatives and other crucial programming for youth who are involved with the juvenile justice system or have other needs.
Youth Shelter Care Program:
Provides youth who are referred by Milwaukee County Children’s Court with safe, nurturing, and well-maintained environments in two separate state-licensed Shelter Care Facilities, helping to decrease risk factors, increase protective factors, and support positive development during a period of typically 30-60 days.
