Open Doors for Youth

Open Doors for Youth serves youth ages 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Created in 2015 as a 501(c)3, Open Doors has a drop-in center in Elk River, MN, as well as school and community outreach in Central Minnesota. Our area includes Elk River, Big Lake, Becker, Monticello, Princeton, Otsego, Rogers, Zimmerman, Albertville, and St. Michael. Our drop-in center, is a safe, welcoming space for youth to rest, relax, and connect with trusted adults. Youth have immediate access to basic needs. Case management is offered in-house and in area high schools, and in partnership with community service providers. A certified mental health clinician provides free on-site therapy. Our Vision is to create communities in which youth experiencing homelessness find hope and feel supported and valued. Our Mission is to create a welcoming and safe environment for youth experiencing homelessness, where working together, we remove barriers, empowering youth to move towards positive and healthy networks of support, personal well-being, and housing stability.
